Are getting married

on June 18th, 2022 in Bettendorf, Iowa! Thank you so much for taking the time to visit our site! We are so grateful for all of the love and support from our friends and family over the years, and we cannot wait to celebrate with you all in June!

Our Story

How it started!

Michelle and Michael first met in the dorms the week before their first semester started at Iowa State back in 2014. Michael was walking through the dorms getting to know new people, and Michelle was studying (yes, before classes had even started.)

The two got to know each other better over that first semester through engineering classes and time spent together with their shared friend group. They also bonded over their love of Cyclone football!

Michael expressed his feelings to Michelle when they both returned from winter break to start their second semester. It was clear that they both felt strongly about each other, and they started officially dating shortly after!

The Journey!

Michelle and Michael LOVED their time at Iowa State. Michelle kept herself busy with cheerleading and ADPi, and Michael focused on his clubs. We all know he spent most of his time playing video games though!

Michelle's internships brought her to Kansas City and Omaha, and Michael's brought him to Des Moines and Wheaton. They always found ways to visit each other!

Some of Michelle and Michael’s favorite memories at Iowa State are of attending football games together after tailgates with both of their families. Go Cyclones!

Get a Degree they said?

After graduation, Michael moved back to Wheaton, IL to start his job as a Developer, and Michelle moved to Omaha to be a Process Engineer. The distance was not easy, but the two were determined to grow together.

Finally in March of 2020 with lockdown looming, Michael escaped Illinois and started working remotely in Omaha.

Engagement

On April 10, 2021, on a visit to Iowa State to "celebrate Austin getting an internship," Michael proposed! The two were under the campanile clock tower, and of course Michelle said, “YES!”

Michelle was so surprised to see that Michael had included both families in the plans, and that her parents were hiding just out of sight during the proposal! Both parents were there jumping up and down to celebrate with them right after. It was such a great weekend!

Where are we Today?

Since finally being in the same city, the two have both changed jobs! Michael is at Streck doing website development while Michelle is a Continuous Improvement Engineer at Hexagon Agility working with clean energy fuel solutions.

Michael and Michelle enjoy playing tennis together, going on bike rides, and cooking! Michael has loved playing disc golf, and Michelle has enjoyed her yoga. As always, they love spending time with both families as well as their cat Petrie!

The two absolutely cannot wait to celebrate with their friends and family in June!
